My first silk gauze mini project!

This is my first silk gauze miniature needlework project. I wish the pictures were clearer. It's called 'Adam & Eve Sampler' from Annelle Ferguson's book 'Traditional Needlework In Miniature'.

The count of this fabric is 40 ct. it is sheer, with an extremely open weave--- delineated holes/threads and very different from anything I've ever stitched on before. As you can see I've mounted/sewn the silk gauze on muslin and used an embroidery hoop, which I haven't used in what seems like ages. (Hooked on either in hand for small projects or Q-snaps for full-size projects).

I am using 1 stand of DMC cotton thread, and a size 28 needle. Do I like silk gauze? More on that another time. :-)
