After realizing why I couldnt find the right finishing technique using this design, I decided that it was the black border that the pattern calls for. So, I frogged it out and so many more options were open to me. And as you can see, I chose a pretty blue and white stripe for the fabric, pure white cotton lace edging, ties the finished ends ito loose knots, and waa-laa!
